1. عقلمند آدمی اور ہاتھی

ایک گاؤں میں ایک دانا بوڑھا آدمی جنگل کے کنارے رہتا تھا۔ ایک دن، بچوں کا ایک گروہ بھاگتا ہوا اس کے پاس آیا، ایک ہاتھی کے بارے میں شکایت کر رہا تھا جس نے انہیں ڈرایا تھا۔ انہیں امید تھی کہ عقلمند آدمی ہاتھی کو سزا دینے میں ان کی مدد کرے گا۔

اس کے بجائے، عقلمند آدمی نے بچوں سے کہا کہ اس کے لیے ایک بڑا برتن اور کچھ چینی لے آؤ۔ پھر اس نے ان سے کہا کہ چینی کو جنگل کے کنارے کے پاس رکھو اور انتظار کرو۔ اگلے دن انہوں نے ہاتھی کو خوشی سے چینی کھاتے ہوئے پایا۔

 The Wise Man and the Elephant

In a village, a wise old man lived by the edge of the forest. One day, a group of children came running to him, complaining about an elephant that had scared them. They expected the wise man to help them punish the elephant.

Instead, the wise man asked the children to bring him a big jar and some sugar. He then told them to place the sugar near the forest’s edge and wait. The next day, they found the elephant happily eating the sugar.

“Why didn’t you chase the elephant away?” asked the children.

The wise man replied, “Because when we treat others with kindness, we can find solutions that are better for everyone. If we had scared the elephant away, it might have become more dangerous. Now, it feels welcomed and will not harm us.”

The children learned that showing kindness, even in difficult situations, often brings better results than reacting with anger or fear.

ہاتھی اور رسی۔

ایک دفعہ کا ذکر ہے کہ ایک نوجوان لڑکا سرکس میں گیا۔ اس نے دیکھا کہ ہاتھی، اپنے بڑے سائز کے باوجود، ان کی اگلی ٹانگ میں ایک چھوٹی رسی سے بندھے ہوئے تھے۔ لڑکا متجسس تھا کہ یہ مضبوط مخلوق آزاد کیوں نہیں ہوتی۔

اس نے قریب ہی ایک ٹرینر سے پوچھا، “ہاتھی صرف رسی کو توڑ کر فرار کیوں نہیں ہو جاتے؟” ٹرینر نے وضاحت کی، “جب وہ جوان اور چھوٹے ہوتے ہیں، تو ہم انہیں باندھنے کے لیے ایک ہی سائز کی رسی کا استعمال کرتے ہیں۔ اس عمر میں، یہ انھیں پکڑنے کے لیے کافی ہوتا ہے۔ جیسے جیسے وہ بڑے ہوتے ہیں، ان پر یہ یقین کرنے کی شرط رکھی جاتی ہے کہ وہ آزاد نہیں ہو سکتے۔ اگرچہ وہ کر سکتے تھے، وہ کوشش نہیں کرتے۔”

یہ کہانی ہمیں سکھاتی ہے کہ یہاں تک کہ اگر ہم ناکام ہوئے ہیں یا کسی خاص طریقے سے سوچنے کی شرط لگائی گئی ہے، تو ہمیں ہمیشہ محدود عقائد سے آزاد ہونے کی کوشش کرنی چاہیے

The Elephant and the Rope

Once upon a time, a young boy visited a circus. He noticed that the elephants, despite their massive size, were tied to a small rope at their front leg. The boy was curious as to why these strong creatures didn’t break free.

He asked a trainer nearby, “Why don’t the elephants just break the rope and escape?” The trainer explained, “When they are young and smaller, we use the same size rope to tie them. At that age, it’s enough to hold them. As they grow up, they are conditioned to believe they can’t break free. So, even though they could, they don’t try.”

This story teaches us that even if we’ve failed or been conditioned to think a certain way, we should always try to break free from limiting beliefs.
